Rolla has been selected to showcase and represent Music BC at the 2014 Folk Alliance conference in Kansas City, MO. The conference is an annual event that draws together music industry professionals from around the world to share ideas, network and celebrate music. This years keynote speaker is Graham Nash. Rolla’s performances will be scheduled through the Music BC room at the Westin Crown Center February 19th-23rd.
Rolla Olak and Willhorse are teaming up for the Winter WOLFPACK Tour with dates in BC and Alberta throughout December 2013.

Rolla’s new single Waiting For You has been added to Common Courtesy Vol. 1, a compilation of local musicians to benefit Kids Up Front Vancouver. All donations go directly to providing access to arts, culture, sports and recreation for kids who otherwise would not have the opportunity. Other artists include The Belle Game, Gang Signs, Gold & Youth, Jody Glenham and more.
Listen to the new single Waiting For You, recorded at Greenhouse Studios Vancouver by Matt Roach and mixed by Erik Nielsen. The track features John Sponarski on pedal steel, Shane Wilson on drums, Andrew Rasmussen on piano and Erik Nielsen on bass. Purchase the single on Bandcamp.
Rolla has been included in this years Peak Performance Project! Hosted by local radio station 102.7 The Peak, the Peak Performance Project is one of North America’s largest emerging artist competitions. Rolla is one of 20 artists selected to represent the project this year, with a chance to win $102,700 to put towards his musical career.
Western Heart is now available through Rolla’s Bandcamp page and at shows. Western Heart was recorded in a shed in Rolla’s backyard with Tanis Gibbons and features 8 original songs including ‘God Only Knows’, a duet with pop-songtress Louise Burns.
Several tracks from Rolla Olak’s debut solo album plus a handful of original un-released compositions were used for the soundtrack to the VICE documentary Doin It Baja. Doin’ It Baja chronicles a 2200 mile motorcycle trip from San Diego to the tip of Baja California, Mexico.
